Officially opened by H.S.H. Prince Rainier III on 25 January 1985, the Stade Louis-II is a vast 30,000 m² complex housing a set of sporting facilities and other premises dedicated to sporting activities (including the Salle Gaston-Médecin, home of the Roca Team basketball side, the Centre Nautique Albert II which hosts the international swimming competition Mare Nostrum, and the athletics track whete the Herculis meeting takes place every summer). There is also a car park with 1,700 spaces on four levels, and a ring of office buildings behind the grandstands.
With its unique design, the stadium is instantly recognisable and always a pôwerful sight for spectators in the stands.And since the beginning of 2022, supporters and indeed anyone else interested in the stadium can explore the Stade Louis-II virtually, thanks to AS Monaco and Riplee, the specialist in digital innovation.
Using technology from Oculus, whose headsets provide a high-quality VR experience, you can take a tour of AS Monaco's virtual lounge, visit the players' corridor, head onto the pitch to admire the famous arches, and peek inside the trophy room. You can even lift the trophies, following in the footsteps of greats like Jean-Luc Ettori, Thierry Henry, and Kylian Mbappé.
